Hello! I recently finished reading The Secretist novels by Doug Beyer, revolving around the events of the Return to Ravnica block, and produced a card based on the ending of Dragon’s Maze.
Spoiler warning to anyone who hasn’t read the novels and plans to.
At the end of the maze, Jace became the living embodiment of the Guildpact (also, Azor was a Planeswalker, whaaat). It made sense to me that the nature of the spell would make him more attuned to white mana, even if he doesn’t explicitly make use of it; indeed, this card could be mono-blue, the white serving only to reinforce the all-encompassing scope of the abilities.
I’m not sure if the card is too good. The ultimate is cheap but you still need to pay mana costs for the cards, including colors, and Jace isn’t exactly splashable. The second ability concerns me most, despite its somewhat limited targeting. I’m not sure if the flash rules text effectively overrides the “once per turn” Planeswalker ability rule; if so, i’d cost it at -3 instead.
